Are you interested in learning how our services might benefit you? Our Westfield and Wall Township psychiatric team would love to help you get started on your journey to improved wellness! However, you might be curious about what to expect as you become our patient. On this page, we explain the basics of our intake process.

Initial Contact

You can reach out to us by calling one of our offices, or you can request a consultation using our convenient online form. After you submit the form, expect us to contact you relatively quickly. We may respond on the same day, or within 24 hours. We are happy to send texts and emails, and we typically call twice. If you do not respond, we will not make any further efforts to move forward with your intake process.

When we get in touch with you, we will arrange for you to attend a virtual prescreen appointment.

Your Virtual Prescreen & Setting Up an Appointment

Patient medical history form

Your virtual prescreener is an appointment with a medical specialist who will gather information relevant to your case. You should be prepared to answer questions about your medical history, your current symptoms, and your goals for treatment. The prescreener appointment usually takes 30 minutes or so.

After the prescreener is complete, we will set up your first appointment with a nurse practitioner or PA. We do require a $75 deposit, which encourages our patients to keep their appointment. If you keep your appointment, the $75 will be refunded.

Prior to your first appointment, our team will verify your insurance benefits and let you know about any deductibles or copays that you are responsible for. We want you to be well-informed about the financial aspect of your care so you can make a well-informed decision about how to move forward.

Diagnosis & Treatment Plan

During your appointment with your nurse practitioner, they will review relevant information about your case and recommend your next steps. They may prescribe medication or recommend other types of therapy.

Keep in mind that patience is important! We want to help you start feeling better as soon as possible, but psychiatry is a complex science, and different people respond differently to various therapies. You can expect us to treat you with courtesy and respect every step of the way as we help you move closer to your wellness goals.
